Iwai Kumesaburo II, 1827 - Interesting kabuki portrait of Iwai Kumesaburo II as a beauty looking to the side with an alarmed expression as she bites the tip of her tongue. She wears a green kimono trimmed with a blue floral print over a red under robe with a blue and white collar, her hair adorned with floral and tortoiseshell hairpins. The inset at right features an example of the actor's calligraphy. A handsome early Kunisada design from a rarely seen series.
