Series; Secret Meetings by Moonlight
Peeking through an Almost-closed Door, circa 1836 - 1838 - Striking image of a beauty peeking through a barely open door, a shaft of light streaming out across the night sky. She stands in the doorway with one hand resting against the wall, a hood over her head and a cloth tied over her face against the cold air. She wears a short plaid coat over a gray print kimono, a roll of tissues tucked into the front of her robe. A beautiful design with wonderful handling of the effects of light, and fine bokashi shading. A great Kunisada beauty design from a rarely seen series.
