The Storehouse of Loyal Retainers - Handsome design from Osaka artist Sadanobu II's series "The Storehouse of Loyal Retainers" (Kanadehon Chushingura), the drama based on the true story of the 47 ronin. Each page contains two chuban prints depicting the acts from the series, with expressive figures integrated into well-detailed settings. They also feature burnishing on the black areas of the robes, a deluxe publishing treatment. These colorful images are framed by the ronin's famous dogtooth border. A nice choice for a collector interested in this historic tale.
