Hakone Lake by Imamura Shiko (1880 - 1916)

Original Imamura Shiko (1880 - 1916) Japanese Woodblock Print
Hakone Lake

Comments - Handsome view of Hakone Lake from a collaborative scroll featuring the Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido Road with designs by Yokoyama Taikan, Shimomura Kanzan, and Imamura Shiko. The trio traveled along the Tokaido by foot and by palanquin as during the Edo era, producing paintings daily that were reported by newspaper. This is a woodblock print based on the original painting by Shiko. A charming design.
