Cherry-blossom Viewing at Asuka Hill, circa 1844 - 1846 - Lovely landscape view of Asuka Hill in Edo, a popular location for viewing cherry blossoms each spring. At left, a woman climbs to the top of the hill as other beauties stop and look out over the countryside. Under the tall pine trees in the center, three women play a hand game called ken, while children play leapfrog behind the. A group enjoys a picnic on a straw mat at right. The site is dotted with flowering cherry trees covered with blossoms. An attractive composition.
