Nakamura Shikan as a Commoner

Comments - Interesting kabuki portrait of Nakamura Shikan as a commoner on a dark night, leaning forward with a rather evil grin as he holds one sleeve to his chest. He wears a blue and green outer kimono patterned with ropes over a tie-dyed blue under robe, a dotted cloth wrapped about his forehead. Blossoming plum branches in dark silhouette provide an handsome backdrop for the figure. Nicely detailed.

Artist - Kunichika (1835 - 1900)

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 9 1/4"

Condition - This print with good detail as shown. Wormhole, a couple holes, repaired. A few creases. Please see photos for details.
