Comments - Dramatic scene from the play "Soga Moyo Tateshi no Goshozome" at the Ichimura Theater of Yuri no Kata attacking the beauty Hototogisu. The matron raises a short sword above her head as she tugs on the end of Hotogisu's obi, her frightened victim scrambling backwards along the ground, her hand thrown out in self-defense. In the room behind the women, a scroll trails off the edge of a table, and a black lacquer mirror rests atop red cloth on a stand at upper right. From left, the actors are Ichimura Uzaemon XIV and Ichikawa Kodanji IV. Expressive figures in a handsomely detailed setting.
