Series; Twenty-four Generals of Eastern Kai Province, One by One, 1853
Kosaka Danjo Masanobu - Fantastic depiction of General Kosaka Danjo Masanobu, one of Takeda Shingen's trusted "Twenty-four Generals." He played an important role in winning the fourth Battle of Kawanakajima. He is shown in an encampment, turned away from the viewer to show off the magnificent robe worn over his armor, which depicts a lion on the back and an elephant on the side. His battle helmet is also topped with a golden elephant, and his sashimono or personal standard features a wheel at the top and several hanging slips. He looks boldly to the side with a frown as he stands calmly. The cloth panel before him features the diamond crest of the Shingen Clan. A great Kuniyoshi design from a rarely seen series.
