Suspicious Beauty and Alarmed Man

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of an alarmed man throwing his hands out at his sides, a worried expression on his face. The kneeling beauty regards him suspiciously, recoiling slightly. She wears a floral kimono bordered with black bands of writing, and fashionable lipstick that appears green when applied more thickly, giving the appearance of two color lips. Blinds run across the back of the room above panels featuring floral medallions. Nice expressive figures in a handsome setting.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 18 3/4"

Condition - This print with good detail as shown. Two separate panels. Vertical fold at side. A few repairs and creases, slight rubbing. Please see photos for details.
