Beauty on a Pleasure Boat Kakemono

Comments - Terrific kakemono or vertical diptych of a beauty standing on a pleasure boat under a full moon. She rests one hand on the roof of the cabin as she pauses to look up at the night sky, a roll of tissues caught between her teeth. Her kimono is shaded from dark blue to white at the hem with a border of leaves and Genji symbols, tied with an obi patterned with clematis blossoms. A classic Edo era beauty design.
