Comments - Charming scene of Prince Genji on an outing to view the blossoming cherry trees. The young nobleman stands in the center, wearing a voluminous black robe over a red kimono and full pants. Beauties on either side of him hold his sword and a tray with his black court cap on it. A woman kneeling at left smiles as she holds out a black lacquer box to the prince. The royal carriage can be seen at upper left, with a few auspicious cranes in the sky above. The first time we've seen this attractive design.
