Fireworks at Ryogoku, 1862 - Handsome view of fireworks above the Sumida River in Edo, a shower of red sparks lighting up the night sky. In the foreground, pedestrians crowd the Ryogoku Bridge, while boats of all sizes fill the river, passengers enjoying the display and the evening cool. Clouds drift across the top and bottom of the scene. An attractive aizuri-e or primarily blue design with just a few accents of red. The first time we've seen this subject.
