Series; Modern Parodies of Genji, 1863 - 1864

Takegawa, Chapter 44: Takegawa Masatada and His Son, 1864 - Dramatic illustration of the evil Takegawa Masatada threatening his son with his sword. He holds the young boy down with one hand, brandishing his weapon in the other. Biting his lower lip he looks to the side with a suspicious glance, his eyes narrowed and brows furrowed. The frightened child struggles, kicking off one of his sandals, which lies on the ground nearby. A snow-covered pine tree frames the night sky. Includes a faint spattering of white pigment to simulate falling snow.

Condition - This print with nice detail as shown. Diagonal fold. Stitching holes at side, a few wormholes, repaired. Slight creasing. Please see photos for details.
