Series; The Sixty-nine Stations of the Kisokaido, 1852

Road to Mount Nunobiki at Yawata Station: Nakamura Tsuruzo I as Nanba Rokuro - Wonderfully expressive kabuki portrait of Nakamura Tsuruzo I as the nobleman Nanba Rokuro. He stares head with a dejected frown, painfully unhappy. He wears a voluminous black outer robe over an elegant brocade kimono and a suit of armor, a fan in his hand and a black court cap tied under his chin with a tasseled cord. The landscape above shows the road to Mt. Nunobiki at Yawata, with a rushing waterfall at right and tall pine trees. A great image, beautifully detailed with burnishing the on black robe and court cap.

Image Size - 14" x 9 1/2"

Condition - This print with good detail as shown. Backed with paper. Folds at edges, light spotting. Please see photos for details.
