Scene from Tsukimi no Hare Meiga no Ichijiku, 1862

Comments - Interesting kabuki portrait of Nakamura Shikan IV as the commoner Otaka Tonomo in "Tsukimi no Hare Meiga no Ichijiku" at the Ichimura Theater. He kneels on a wooden boardwalk over a pond filled with blossoming irises, clutching a letter in one hand and iris leaves in the other, grimacing angrily. An expressive figure in an attractive setting, detailed with soft shading on the water and sky.

Image Size - 13 1/2" x 9"

Condition - This print with good detail as shown. Vertical centerfold. Thinning spot, repaired. A couple creases and spots. Please see photos for details.
