Comments - Handsome kabuki scene of a courtesan entertaining two visitors, smiling as she looks over her shoulder a pipe in hand. The otokodate or street knight at left stares back at her with a slight frown, his hands resting atop the end of a shakuhachi flute. An ornate pipe and tobacco set rest on the floor nearby. At right, a samurai draws his sword with a worried expression as he watches the beauty. The house opens onto a garden with blossoming hydrangeas and a stone lantern beneath a tree. An attractive design with a nicely detailed setting.
