Scene from Momochidori Sakigake Soga, 1865

Comments - Handsome half-length kabuki portrait of Sawamura Tanosuke III as Ohatsu, the loyal servant of the lady-in-waiting Onoe, in the play "Momochidori Sakigake Soga" at the Morita Theater. She leans forward with a slight smile, watching keenly as she holds one hand to her chest. She wears a plaid kimono over a red under robe with a tie-dyed collar tied with an olive green obi and narrow red sash, her hair pulled back into a smooth bun. Nice detailed in the fabric pattern and soft shading on the night sky.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 9 5/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with good detail as shown. Horizontal centerfold. A few creases, stain. Please see photos for details.
