Samurai and Beauty in Private Quarters

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a samurai and a beauty in private quarters. At right, the woman kneels atop a cushion, holding out a roll of tissues in her hand. She wears a stripe blue coat with a black collar over a blue kimono tied with a red obi that reverses to yellow. Her companion looks over his shoulder with a worried frown as he holds his sword between his hands. A candle burns in the lamp on the floor between the pair, and a lacquer box and books are stacked on a shelf above. Nice detail in the interior setting.
