Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a beauty outside a garden gate attempting to deliver a letter. She grins happily as she kneels at left, while the commoner just inside the gate glares at her angrily. At right, a samurai watches her with a frown, his brows furrowed. Nicely detailed with a burnished geometric pattern on the black kimono at left, and burnishing on the black kimono at right. The first time we've seen this Chikanobu design.

Condition - This print with nice color and detail as shown. Three separate panels, backed with paper. A few small repairs, offsetting, light vertical line where backing papers meet. Please see photos for details.
