Kumoi of the Kukimanji - Charming portrait of the courtesan Kumoi of the Kukimanji house in the Yoshiwara enjoying an evening stroll. Her outer kimono features cherry blossoms and colorful ribbons, with a bird on one sleeve, worn over red under robes and tied with a red print obi. The three "teeth" of her black geta clogs identify her as an oiran or high ranking courtesan. Behind her a low fence encloses yellow mountain roses and a flowering cherry tree. A classic Edo era beauty design, nicely detailed.
