Beauty with Hibiscus, 1878 - Attractive portrait of an upper-class beauty from a series featuring ladies of the Imperial court matched with popular flowers. She smiles sweetly as she looks over her shoulder, holding a folding fan trimmed with colored streamers. She wears a delicately embossed white robe over a red under robe, tucked into red hakama pants, the white collar of the under robe embossed with a subtle scroll pattern. The pale pink hibiscus blossoms are carefully detailed with red veining, set off by deep green foliage. A handsome design with fine line work in the hair.
