Comments - Charming design of three women and a young girl gathered under an ancient plum tree. The beauty at right is practicing archery, a bow in one hand as a couple of arrows in the other. She wears a green vest with butterflies over a blue kimono patterned with tie-dyed pink water, Genji symbols, and leaves. The beauty smiles over her shoulder at the child, who marches around carrying a gohei, a wand of folded paper streamers used in Shinto purification rites. The woman kneeling at left wears an unusual burnished black obi with a pattern of turnips. The plum tree is rendered in handsome calligraphic strokes, with a meandering band of light mica the runs across the pages. An attractive image, nicely colored and detailed.
