Onigadake Tetsuemon, 1847 - 1852

Comments - Great kabuki portrait of the sumo wrestler Onigadake Tetsuemon, scowling with rage as he looks down, a fan in one hand. His kimono features a bold pattern shimenawa ropes, worn over a red under robe and tied with a red tie-dyed obi, a black robe draped over one shoulder. A nice expressive figure.

Artist - Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)

Image Size - 13 3/8" x 8 3/8"

Condition - This print with good detail as shown. Horizontal centerfold. A couple holes, thinning, repaired. Wrinkling. Please see photos for details.
