Ishibe: Megawa Village, 1855 - Charming scene by Toyokuni III in the foreground depicting a young courtesan and a guest in private quarters. She stands next to a low folding screen providing privacy for her bed, holding her kimono sleeve to her mouth as she looks down in surprise, her eyes wide. The man grimaces up at her as he sits beside a tobacco set, a pipe in hand and a cup of sake nearby. Above, Hiroshige shows a view of Ishibe, with a lone traveler walking across the bridge toward the village of Mekawa. Plum trees are dotted with pink blossoms, and low clouds drift across the sky around the distant mountain. A handsome design, nicely detailed.
