Cherry Blossom Viewing - Beautiful triptych of a beauty and a young girl viewing delicate pink and white cherry blossoms. The beauty wears a lovely blue kimono with an intricate pattern of wisteria blossoms and a royal cart on the sleeve. She shades her eyes with an elegant fan, the ribs embossed, and a small lacquer case is tucked into the front of her robe. A cloth panel is tied to the cherry tree at right to provide privacy for a picnic. Beautifully detailed with fine embossing on the white kimono collars and white areas of the cloth panel, and burnishing on the hair. A terrific springtime subject with the large figures creating a striking composition.
