Janken (Rock, Paper, Scissors), 1952

Takei Takeo - Takei Takeo was a highly influential artist best known for his paintings for children. He created magazine covers and illustrations for children's books, such as fairytales and folktales, as well as writing and illustrating his own books. Takei helped found the Nihon Doga Kyokai (Japan Association of Illustration for Children) in 1927. There is a museum dedicated to Takei in Okaya, Nagano. The first time we've seen woodblocks by this artist.
