Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Hour of the Dog (8pm) - An incredible Utamaro design from his "Twelve Hours in the Yoshiwara" series. A young geisha practicing calligraphy on a long scroll shares a secret with her maid. A beautiful design with excellent soft color. A lovely, old print emulating Utamaro's original. The background flecked with gold ink as were all the prints in this Utamaro series. A nice effect that gives this print the appearance of an original - beautiful.
