Izumi Province, Flowers of Nambu, Botange Shohaku, No. 24 - Lovely spring image of the 15th century poet Botange Shohaku riding on the back of an ox while reading a book. He rides through the beautiful countryside around Osaka past cherry trees covered in delicate pink and white blossoms. At right, a woman holds her crying young son by the hand as she carries a basket of greenery under her arm. The inset above shows a poem slip, ink stone, and brushes next to a large peony. A charming scene with fine bokashi shading in the sky.

Image Size - 12 3/4" x 8 3/4" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with nice color and detail as shown. Backed with paper. A few small spots, raised mark on background from fiber in backing paper. Please see photos for details.
