Bill’s Curated Selection Part II - I assembled this interesting and rare collection of Yoshitoshi over the last year. Yoshitoshi works are a personal favorite. I hope you enjoy shopping my collection as much as I enjoyed putting it together. – Bill

Tsukushima Masamori and Kyosokabe Yataro Tumbling down a Cliff, 1865 - Terrific woodblock of an intense hand to hand battle between the warriors Tsukushima Masamori and Kyosokabe Yataro. Masamori grips his opponent by the wrist as they tumble down a steep hillside, his feet flailing over his head. Yataro struggles to use the blade in his right hand, biting his lower lip in determination. Each wears a fine suit of armor, beautifully colored and set off against the dark night sky and brown cliff with green foliage above. A dynamic composition, full of movement and energy, with Yoshitoshi's characteristic attention to detail and animated facial expressions. A great subject for a samurai enthusiast.
