Musashibo Benkei Fighting Nenoi Oyata, 1865 - Great scene of the warrior monk Musashibo Benkei fighting Nenoi Oyata, the pair locked in combat. At right, Benkei grabs his enemy around the waist at Oyata does the same. Benkei's monk's cowl has been pushed back off his head, fluttering in the wind as the pair grapples. Oyata has a striking personal standard of three blades above his back. A sword and arrows lie on the ground at the pair's feet. Nice expressive figures with wonderful detail in the armor. The first time we've seen this subject.
