Original Kunichika (1835 - 1900) Japanese Woodblock Print
Reading a Letter and Watching Descending Geese

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a man looking up from reading a letter, frowning as he watches geese flying overhead as they descend for the evening. The beauty in the center watches the birds out of the corners of her eyes with a suspicious expression, a roll of tissues in her hand. The woman at right smiles sweetly as she tucks one arm into the sleeve of her robe. A handsome design with large expressive figures, nicely detailed with fine line work in the hair and shading on the night sky.

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 29" + margins as shown
