Series; The Four Seasons

Spring, 1857 - Charming scene of Prince Genji and his companions in an interior, the young nobleman grinning slyly as he looks ahead. At right, a young girl sits on a cushion, holding a brush in one hand and a roll of paper in the other, smiling as she looks up. A beauty kneels on the floor beside her, mixing ink on an ink stone. Just before her, a cylindrical hibachi with an ocean scene on it holds glowing red coals. Window behind them open onto a garden at night with a large pond framed by blossoming branches. An attractive design with nice detail in the setting and furnishings. Includes embossing on the white kimono collars and trim.
