Bamboo and Boat

Comments - Handsome scene of a cluster of bamboo framing a view of the water with a single boat in the distance. A lovely design done in soft gradations of gray and black, with the look of a sumi ink painting. Not much is known about Tekiho Imoto other than that he studied Nihonga or traditional Japanese painting with the master Insho Domoto, and lived in Kyoto. A rarely seen artist and subject, published by Doi with publisher's seal in left margin.
