At lower left, a woman rushes forward in alarm with both hands thrown out before her. at right, a beauty carries a telescope, pausing to chat with her companion who kneels beside a basket filled with clams. The shore is filled with activity, as vendors sell their wares from stands and from a couple of beached boats. A charming design with a wealth of detail.
