Original Meiji era Japanese Woodblock Print
Samurai Carrying a Baby

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a samurai carrying a baby wrapped in a red cloth, cradling the tiny child to his chest as he looks up. He wears a suit of armor over a purple brocade robe and a black court cap. Pine branches frame a view of the red sky and mountains beyond, with the banners of approaching troops visible in the distance at center left. Nice detail in the armor.
