Nisaburo Ito - Born in Kyoto in 1910, shin-hanga artist Nisaburo Ito created many woodblock prints of flowers, landscapes, and noted shrines and temples around his hometown. Some of his designs reflect his study of nihonga or traditional Japanese painting, while others take on a more modern expression. His floral and nature subjects are beautifully rendered with wonderful color and attention to detail. His attractive prints are a lovely choice to collect or display.
Comments - Striking design of red and white camellia blossoms and buds amidst rich green foliage. Beautifully colored and carefully drawn with delicate line work. Would make a lovely framed presentation. Published by Uchida with publisher's seal in lower left margin.
