Noel Nouet - Noel Nouet was a French artist and poet who spent much of his life in
Ryogoku Bridge, 1936 - Lovely view of the Ryogoku Bridge in Tokyo, the span stretching gracefully over the calm river. A boatman poles his ship along the calm water as traffic crosses the bridge overhead, the tall streetlights receding into the distance. The horizon is lined with tall buildings seen in silhouette, with puffy clouds sweeping across the sky above. Wonderful detail and line work in this handsome cityscape.
This presentation - This print comes in a handsome presentation format as originally issued by the publisher. The print is loose within a windowed paper mat that slides into an outer gray folder with the artist's name and series in metallic gold, accompanied by a page of commentary in Japanese. We rarely see these woodblocks come with the original folders. A nice choice for a collector.
