Series; Twelve Months of Beauties, 1898
October: Maple Viewing - Lovely triptych depicting beauties enjoying an October outing to view the maple leaves. In the center, a beauty climbs a hill, pausing to look back over her shoulder. She carries a black Western style umbrella with a silver mica handle, and her checked obi features silver accents as well. Several people stroll across a wooden bridge, stopping to admire the view beneath the colorful leaves of a maple tree. A beautiful design with burnishing on the women's hair and the ribs of the umbrella, fine bokashi shading on the background.
