November: Dressing

Series; Twelve Months of Beauties, 1898

November: Dressing - Lovely scene of attendants helping a beauty to dress as she stands before full-length mirror atop a red lacquer dressing table. She stands quietly, holding her long sleeves out of the way as a woman kneels behind her, tying a lavender print obi behind her back. At right, a young girl sits on the floor, carefully folding a delicately embossed white robe. She smiles as she looks back over her shoulder, dressed in a blue kimono bordered with a design of origami cranes and bamboo. Other kimono and obi hang from a black lacquer frame at right, including a sash patterned with blossoms and a white robe with an embossed diamond pattern. A charming subject, nicely detailed with burnishing on the hair.

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 27 3/4"

Condition - A beautiful clean, crisp print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels, backed with paper. A few small indented marks on background and spots. Please see photos for details.
