Grinning Courtesan and Wary Man, 1847 - 1852 - Interesting kabuki scene of a courtesan grinning as she looks over her shoulder, the wind blowing a blue and white cloth decorated with takaramono or precious objects on her head. Sitting before her, the man looks up with a wary expression, curiously holding his sleeves to his chest. The beauty wears a red tie-dyed kimono bordered with an intricate green and black print of stylized waves and floral motifs, tied with a plum colored obi. Nice expressive figures.
