Series; The Life of Loyal Oboshi, 1847 - 1848

The Life of Loyal Oboshi - Interesting design from a series depicting actors both living and dead as Oboshi Yuranosuke in scenes from the famous kabuki play "Kanadehon Chushingura," the tale of the 47 ronin. Oboshi was the leader of the ronin, who vowed to avenge their master's death, secretly planning and executing a vendetta to achieve their goal. Each image features a figure or figures in a nicely detailed setting with a text panel above. A handsome and rarely seen Toyokuni III series.
