A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction

Arashi Kanjuro as the Referee Shokuro, 1832 - Interesting scene from the kabuki play "Sekitori Nidai no Shobuzuke" at the Nakamura Theater, a drama about rival sumo wrestlers. Here, Arashi Kanjuro plays the referee Shokuro, standing atop an overturned bench, trapping a black robe and swords beneath him. The text panel at upper right takes the form of a sumo wrestler's fan. An unusual design.
