A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction

Sawamura Tossho I as Matsue Kurando, 1834 - Great kabuki portrait of Sawamura Tossho I as the samurai Matsue Kurando leaning forward with a furious frown as he grips his sword upright. The sleeves of his furry black kimono have been pushed down to the waist, revealing armor tucked into pants with dragons on them. The trunks of pine trees frame a view across fields to a mountain looming on the horizon beneath a full moon. A nice expressive figure.
