Ichimura Uzaemon XIII as Hototogisu, 1864

Comments - Dramatic kabuki portrait of Ichimura Uzaemon XIII as Hototogisu in the play "Soga Moyo Tateshi no Gosho-Zome" at the Ichimura Theater. She turns away from an attacker in fright, cowering behind her kimono sleeve and trying to free her sash. She wears a pink kimono over a red under robe, the loose hair framing her face giving her a disheveled appearance. Detailed with a faint embossed geometric pattern on the pink kimono and the white collar, and soft shading on the night sky. A nice large expressive figure.

Image Size - 14" x 9 1/2" + left margin as shown
