The Tenth Month, 1869 - Lovely scene of Prince Genji and beauties in an interior during the tenth month. He stands in the center, grinning happily at the princess kneeling at left. He wears a dark blue coat patterned with a rooster with long tailfeathers and red pleated brocade collar over a white kimono tucked into pants shaded from yellow to pink, the long legs trailing beneath his feet. In the garden at upper right, two women walk along the stepping stones leading from a pond, each carrying a softly glowing lantern. A handsome design, beautifully colored and detailed with embossing on the white kimono and white kimono collars.
