Comments - Charming scene of Prince Genji and two beauties visiting a chrysanthemum display. The young nobleman smiles over his shoulder at the beauty at left, who holds out a black lacquer box. The woman at right serves as Genji's page, carrying his sword upright. Behind them, blossoming chrysanthemums are sheltered under a checked roof, the heavy flowers supported with paper collars, some bearing tags with names. An attractive design with a nicely detailed setting. Includes embossing on the white kimono trim at left.
