Comments - Interesting kabuki scene from the play "Soga Moyo Kameyama-zome" of the samurai Akabori Mizuemon holding up a small Buddhist statue in a cloud of smoke rising from an incense burner. He grimaces angrily at Judean's mistress Okura, hold looks down with a strange expression, iris blossoms in her hand. At left, Miki Juzaemon frowns as he watches the beauty, resting one hand atop the hilt of his sword. He wears a dee blue coat with a subtle burnished geometric pattern over a kimono tucked into striped pants with floral motifs. Irises bloom along the walkway behind the couple, with pine branches framing the scene above. From left, the actors are Kataoka Gado II, Nakamura Daikichi III, and Arashi Kichisaburo III. A handsome design with an attractive setting. The first time we've seen this subject.

Condition - This print with good detail as shown. Three separate panels, backed with paper. A few creases and stains, slight rubbing, rippling, paper does not lay flat. Please see photos for details.
