Tugging on a Beauty's Obi, 1847 - 1852

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a young man tugging on a beauty's red tie-dyed obi, grinning happily. The woman turns her head away with a frown, trying to pull her sash back. Behind her, a pair of pants is draped over a low folding screen decorated with chrysanthemums, a roaring fire burns in a hibachi on the porch at left. The room opens onto a garden with bamboo in silhouette against the night sky. An attractive design with a nicely detailed setting.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14" x 19 1/2"

Condition - This print with nice color and detail as shown. Two separate panels. A few small repairs, slight creasing and rippling, a few stains. Please see photos for details.
