Scene from Okuni no matsu Soga Nakamura, 1861 - Interesting kabuki scene from the play "Okuni no matsu Soga Nakamura" taking place in an interior with the samurai Akizuki Ikaku in the center tugging on the end of a beauty's obi. She grins back at him happily, adjusting her hair as her pattern obi unwinds. The samurai frowns unhappily at the seated man Kanaya at left, who regards him warily as he looks up from a long letter. White plum blossoms frame the night sky behind the trio, with stepping stones leading through the garden. A hibachi with glowing red coals and a burning lamp complete the room. An interesting subject with a nicely detailed setting.
