Matches for Famous Places in Edo - Handsome kabuki portrait from an 1867 series pairing actors with famous places in Edo. Kunichika, Kuniteru II, and Yoshiiku each contributed designs to the series. Each print features a large portrait in the foreground, with a shaped inset above highlighting a famous landmark or scenic spot in Edo. These attractive images are nicely detailed with fine line work in the hair and soft bokashi shading in the background. This series is seldom seen, and is a great choice for a kabuki collector.

Condition - This print with good detail as shown. Small paper remnant on reverse from previous backing. Thinning area, repaired. A couple creases at edges and small spots. Please see photos for details.
